Position Overview

They are looking for an associate attorney with 3-8 years of recent business litigation experience to join our team. This position is well-suited for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple matters efficiently. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare thorough research memoranda.
  • Communicate directly with clients to offer legal guidance and updates.
  • Draft a wide range of pleadings, including initial filings, motions, settlement agreements, and discovery documents.
  • Take and defend depositions and engage in fact-gathering activities.
  • Appear at court hearings, conferences, ADR proceedings, and client meetings.
  • Represent clients in mediation and settlement negotiations.
  • Serve as assistant trial counsel and participate in trial preparation.
  • Negotiate case resolutions and settlements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable California statutes, rules, and case law.
  • Handle administrative and case management tasks related to assigned matters.

Qualifications

  • Active license to practice law in the State of California.
  • 3+ years of law firm experience, with a focus on business litigation.
  • Experience with eDiscovery platforms and legal technology tools (preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Strong written and oral communication abilities.
  • Excellent analytical skills and creative problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working with diverse teams and clients.
